Rock Band $170 on Nov. 23 →
Well, slightly cheaper then expected so that’s good. I’m really tempted but I’m still not sure I can drop that much on a game.

Neat, the new Mario & Sonic Olympic will have fencing. Of course, they’ll only have epée which doesn’t have “right of way” or target areas. I know this only because I used to fence (poorly).

"This microwave looks great. Does it have a popcorn setting?"
"A popcorn subscription, yes."
"Sorry?"
"There is a popcorn setting, but it's only good with this list of popcorn manufacturers. We were at least able to get Pop Secret and Orville Redenbacher to agree on a 99-cent price point for each use."
"Erm. How about this model? Is popcorn free on this?"
"Yes, but you can only use it three times."
"Oh."
"There is, however, a bonus: You can play five pre-loaded microwave games."
"On this little screen?"
"One of the games is 'Guess what I'm cooking.'"

What happens when you’re in a lifted Jeep Grand Cherokee and you take on a big rock a wee bit too fast? Hilariousness happens, that’s what. Oh, and your airbags deploy. Also, you look really silly. From Jalopnik.

Guy1: When are you guys going to stop talking about this?
Guy2: How can we ever stop talking about how you fucked a 50-year-old woman in our street?
Me: Dude, in the street?
Guy1: The sidewalk.

I was thrown off a little by ‘The Rock’ but this follow-up to Donnie Darko looks really interesting. (PS, if you go frame-by-frame during that flashy part about 20 seconds in, there’s some really cool and weird stuff.)

He gets very emotional and as a Reddit user pointed out he’s doing the right thing, for the right reasons but the right thing just shouldn’t be that hard. Related article is here. Part of the reason for the sudden reversal was the fact that his daughter is gay.

Reznor views labels as greedy entities — charging progressively more for records without passing any additional revenue to artists. Once the band’s contract with Universal is finished, Reznor plans to sell music directly to his fans for about $4 an album.
So the Ryan Estrada business was far more widespread than I noticed. Fleen has a long list of 37 comics he found but the total may even be higher. The whole thing was basically a promotion for Ryan launching his Cartoon Commune. He’s currently posting one guest comic on his site every five hours.

MediaDefender internal emails leaked →
This is great. If you don’t know who MediaDefender is, they ‘police’ peer2peer applications, mostly bittorrent, working for the RIAA and MPAA. They have many backhanded tactics, most recently involving a fake video sharing site designed to catch people uploading copyrighted material. (Thanks Marco)
According to Google, here’s a sampling of the 25 most ‘similar’ sites to mine: Four pages of law stuff. I’m thinking it’s mostly because the word ‘confessions’ is used. Four pages about fake bombs. Apparently, there are negotiations to make a new Tron movie. I was horrified at first but they seem to have some good people backing it including the co-writer and director of the original and writers from Lost. We’ll see I guess…
