fractal wrongness →
The state of being wrong at every conceivable scale of resolution. That is, from a distance, a fractally wrong person’s worldview is incorrect; and furthermore, if you zoom in on any small part of that person’s worldview, that part is just as wrong as the whole worldview.
Debating with a person who is fractally wrong leads to infinite regress, as every refutation you make of that...
Boy in bizarre 'fish in penis' accident →
A 14 year old boy in India arrives at the hospital complaining of pain and dribbling urine. The doctors find a nearly 1 inch long and 0.5 inch wide wide fish in the boy’s bladder. His story? He was cleaning his fishtank and was holding a fish when he had to go to the bathroom. While peeing, the fish slipped from his hand and entered his urethra. Right.
The article ends with this...

jessicalindsey: This makes me happy.
danhacker: HA! It’s true, not everyone on Tumblr lives in New York City, even if it might seem like it sometimes.
I was actually just surprised to learn that West Coast users now outnumber East Coast (according to Google). Scary.

New York
Brooklyn
San Francisco
Shinjuku

Explore Tumblr →
I really like the new Tumblr explore page (complete with a usable Tumblr map!) but I don’t quite get the ‘colorful’ block. Do people really like looking at red, green and blue images that much? Also, since it’s automated, there are a couple pictures in there multiple times.
Apologies to the non-Tumblr people but I’m curious about the story behind this comment on an old post that recently started getting fresh reblogs after Peter W Knox reblogged it. I have no idea who the person is (they used youknowwho@gmail.com as their email) but there’s only two possibile stories I can think of. One is that there is a seperate reblog chain that ‘guess...

One more Mario Kart Wii question:
marco:
Do I really have to push the “1” button for the brake, even in nunchuck mode where it’s inconvenient to reach? I tried the obvious ones (B, nunchuck buttons) and none of them seemed to do it.
And what happened to the jump-skidding-turning thing that everyone did in the N64 version? How do I do that? Or has it been removed?
(OK, that was two questions.)

Having to insert a different plastic disc for every different console game.
Having to drive to a store to acquire these plastic discs (or have them delivered on a truck, in a box, from a far-away warehouse).

Having to purchase a new game license if the plastic disc is lost or scratched, which could...

How to Draw Anything (in 1 Step) →
I, personally, can not draw a horse to save my life. I can’t imagine a situation where the difference between my life and death depends on my ability to draw a horse, but still, it’s haunted me for years.

Fans push Avril's “Girlfriend” video to YouTube #1... →
Turns out this was just a publicity ploy to garner enough attention to make more people view the video. The viewer, set to reload the page every 15 seconds, couldn’t have a large effect because YouTube limits IPs to 200 views a day. In the short 5 days the ‘viewer’ was active, the video got less than 1 million views, about on pace with it’s normal traffic.

Impressive flash work.
And incredibly fast! I can’t believe it’s running in my browser.
I saw this earlier and almost posted it but the lack of a history function limits it greatly. I was much more impressed with Pheonix.
"What's on Tumblr?" Notes
I realized the other day that the current version of “What’s on Tumblr?” has now been running for over a month with almost no issues (only a couple missing images) so I figured I’d give a couple updates and a reminder it exists.
I threw a basic search box on the site so you can find that post you missed or search for your username and see how many times (since whatson...

Ok, that’s absolutely awesome. Sir Nils Olav, King penguin in service to the Norwegian King? Is there a cooler description than that?
It’s a sad day when you realize a penguin is cooler than you’ll ever be.
