maybeandroid:

The animated film The Iron Giant, set in the 1950s, tells the story of a lonely boy who discovers a giant metal-eating robot one night. He befriends the giant and then has to protect him from the government and the army. The film uses a mixture of traditional animation and, for the giant, computer generated imagery, and it works together brilliantly. The film overall is smart, funny, heartwarming and as worthy of praise as director Brad Bird’s later Pixar films.

I just watched this again about a week ago. It’s seriously one of my favorite movies.
